Sudeepto Roy

Vice President – Engineering, Qualcomm Technology Licensing

Sudeepto leads QTL’s recently established customer-focused engineering team, formed to support Qualcomm’s existing and new IPR licensees. 

As a 23 year veteran of Qualcomm and the wireless industry, Sudeepto has gained and shared his pivotal experience in leading engineering and product planning teams to design ASICs and launch several generations of phones, tablets, networking, IoE, and infrastructure products, at all major manufacturers, including Blackberry, Apple and Motorola, while simultaneously enabling the industry’s major technology shifts from 2G, 3G, 4G and beyond. He created Qualcomm’s ASIC software customer engineering organization in 1998, and grew it to a 1000+ strong worldwide team spread across US, Canada, Japan, Korea, Europe, China, Taiwan and India. During 2015-2016, he led Qualcomm’s chipset roadmap planning team, for the 2017-2018 smartphone product cycles. 

Sudeepto holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Engineering from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India, and Old Dominion University, Norfolk, respectively, and has completed an Engineering management program at Caltech.

Jim Cathey

Senior Vice President & President, Asia Pacific & India. Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

James Cathey is senior vice president of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and president of Qualcomm’s businesses in Asia Pacific and India. In this role, Cathey is responsible for leading all business and operations functions for Qualcomm in these regions.

Prior to his current role, Cathey was president of Qualcomm’s operations in Japan. Before that, he was country manager in Taiwan where he was responsible for Qualcomm MEMS Technologies (QMT) stationed in Taiwan, including product management, applications engineering, technical product marketing, and marketing communications.

Prior to joining Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., Cathey served as a senior executive at Micron Technology and MicroDisplay, as well as the head of Investor Relations for PixTech. He also has provided strategic business consulting services to companies such as DuPont Display, DuPont PhotoMask and Applied Materials.

Cathey holds seven patents. He sits on the Advisory Board for Startup Labs Taiwan. Cathey earned a bachelor's of business administration in marketing from Boise State University.

Karthee Madasamy

Vice President & Managing Director, Qualcomm Ventures, India

Karthee is Managing Director, Qualcomm Ventures, and is based in Bangalore, India. Karthee has over 20 years of experience in the wireless and multimedia industries and has worked in product development and management roles at various semiconductor start-ups. 

Prior to his current role, he worked as a Management consulting intern at Boston Consulting Group and as an Associate at the venture capital firm, JK&B Capital.

Shashidhar (Shashi) Reddy

Vice President – Engineering, Qualcomm Hyderabad, Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd.

Shashi Reddy has 25+ years of experience in Wireless and embedded software industry and has worked in companies like Qualcomm, Skyworks, Northern Telecom, Sony, and Intel in US and India. He is currently head of Qualcomm’s Hyderabad Design Centre that develops embedded wireless products.

Sachidanand Varadarajan

Vice President - Engineering, Qualcomm Bangalore, Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd.

Sachidanand (Sachi) has been Vice-President, Engineering at Qualcomm Bangalore Design Centre (BDC), for the past nine years. Currently, he leads BDC and is responsible for delivering SOCs. At Qualcomm, Sachi has been responsible for more than 55 tape outs & productization. He has driven chip cost reduction, test time optimization, DPPM reduction & power optimization. Sachi has more than 24 years of experience.
